Pegs finds its origin in Troyeville, Johannesburg in the year 2000. A Jazz Social Club created in a historic neighbourhood of old Johannesburg, Pegs Cosy Corner becomes synonym with great Jazz listening sessions till late, occasional Live Jazz and best late night kitchen in the city.

A few years later, Pegs is reborn as The Orbit – Home of Jazz, the Premier Jazz club/venue in Gauteng (Johannesburg Province). In the space of three years, The Orbit became the main performance platform to accompany “the South African Jazz Renaissance”, in the words of JazzTimes and New York Times writer and critic Giovanni Russonello.

Aymeric Péguillan is the creator, co-founder/owner and manager of these two Jazz venues. A well established Impresario on the South African jazz scene, he has now embarked, since 2017, on a new and independent journey called Pegs Music Project that continues to take him and his projects in the direction and purpose he has always and consistently served: the promotion of SA Jazz artists and, through them, the unique and original voice of SA Jazz.
